Though it has been years since it was illegal for women and non-WASPs from participating in government, they -- the majority in this nation -- continue to be outvoted and overruled.�

The system was designed for the benefit of rich WASP males, who continue to be overrepresented in Congress and underrepresented in US� prisons; who have -- for so long -- enjoyed far more than their share of wealth and privilege and influence in this nation.� They have the most to gain from voter fraud and suppression.�

If we scare them off with democracy, with social justice, with an equitable and sustainable economy, letapos;s make sure they take with them only what they deserve.

Primero que nada me gustaria decir que fue una pelicula buena, porque me gusta la trama que lleva pues e smuy realista de lo que era la vida de la mujer unos a�os atraz.

Se me hiso interesante la manera tan facil que las personas tenian para controlar a las demas, pues sus creencias y la poca intension de razon uqe tenian, los llevaban a ser personas tan faciles de controlar, eran demaciado ignorantes, y lo mas interesante es que aun en este siglo hay personas que siguen teniendo el mismo pensamiento, y eso lo podemos unir con la problematica actual del aborto, en el que siemrpe esta presente el razonamiento eclesiastico. En la pelicula podemos observar esta parte en la escena de cuando una de las mujeres se baja la pantaleta enfrente del chavo para que este se casara con ella, pero en ese intsante aparece� otra mujer y la ve, entonces le primera le dice " Si tu le dices a la superiora lo que viste, me suicidare y tu te iras al infierno con migo, pues seremos pecadoras", aqui notamos la facilidad del control de las mentes que se tenia en esa epoca, y como mencionaba aun existe.

En esta pelicula podemos conectarla a la clase, pues a las mujeres se les quitaba su derecho de libertad, hasta el del habla, lo cual se me hace lo mas cruel , porque ni siquiera habia justificasion para tenerlas encerradas, ninguna habia hecho algo malo, como matar a alguien o robar, y hasta ellas mismas decian eso. Aunque si lo pensamos a manera de esa epoca, ellas eran como ladronas o asesinas,pero eran muy extremistas.

Uno de los casos mas injustos fue el de la chava que fue violada por su propio primo, ya que esta no pudo ni siquiera evitarlo, mas sin encambio ella fue la acusada y la tachada de ser una cualquiera, y su pretexto era que ella coqueteaba mucho.

This is a great novel to sink your teeth into and youapos;ll be hooked to every single word.

Anyway, I love the TV series and I love the idea of it.

Is it Friday night... Say... 5 oapos;clock-ish?

Iapos;m quite ready for a nice, relaxing weekend.

Think weapos;ve got the movie Casino (Lefty Rosenthal died this week... Reminded me how long itapos;s been since Iapos;ve seen it), an airshow in Boulder City, a food festival at the city park up the street from my house, the Barrett Jackson car auction at Mandalay Bay, and free concert tickets to see The Roots and Gym Class Heroes at the MB House of Blues... Good times.

Letapos;s see if I can extract five more things out of my brain that you might care to know:
1) Still undefeated at fantasy football... Six weeks in. Boom. (Ok, fine, you donapos;t care about that one)
2) Iapos;ve turned the corner on the Macbook... I want one. Now I just need to find a couple thousand dollars under the mattress. The camera is all the more non-essential toy money I need to spend for at least the rest of the year.
3) Iapos;m loving the fall weather here in Vegas. Sunny and mid-80apos;s... Only bad part of the whole deal is that daylight savings hasnapos;t even kicked in and itapos;s already dark outside when Iapos;m leaving work.
4) Took a sick day last Thursday and ended up falling in love with the show Mad Men... Amazing show. Lots of smoking, which is amusing... Canapos;t imagine being a working professional in the 60apos;s. Other than that, great character drama, good looking people, love the ad agency inside information, love the lengths they went to to make everything authentic to the time in which it takes place (the pre-Vietnam 1960apos;s). Downloading the entire 1st season and watching that soon.
5) Do many of you guys live or die by the DVR anymore? I feel like my DVR dependancy is on the decline... Everything is online and I find myself going online and catching up on my shows via Hulu or NBC.com for free while doing other things on the computer. Does it matter if I see things a day behind... And does The Office really need to be seen in HD? Iapos;m starting to think saving an extra $15 a month from Cox Cable says no.
